Christian Books that Make a Difference

Hey you, welcome back to my blog! As always, I hope that whatever I have written for you today inspires you or encourages you in some way! If I haven’t made it clear, I love to read. I love reading all kinds of books but my favorites are the ones that can help grow my faith! The 2 books below have done just that. They have challenged me and stuck with me even after I’ve read them. Check out more about them below, each book is also linked in the picture!

Kingdom Minded: Learning to Walk In Discipline as a Follower of Christ, By: Mary Gautreaux

If you’re looking to be more discipline in your walk with God, this is the book for you! This book challenged me in a ll aspects of my life and how I can look more like Jesus. Let me be clear by saying that apart from God it is impossible for us to be Holy or righteous. We need Him to help us have discipline in our daily lives. For me, a big part of my walk with God depends on my daily study of the Word and prayer habits. In this book, Mary challenges her readers to start out by praying for ten minutes a day and doing that for a few days to become more discipline in your prayer time. Since doing that and making a list of people and things that I want to pray for, my prayer life has changed. One of my favorite quotes from the book is: “Discipline is the path we follow as disciples (see the similarity of those words?), as we move into a deeper knowledge of God, keep in step with the Holy Spirit, and are conformed into the image of Jesus.”

The Peaceful Wife: Living in Submission to Christ as Lord, By: April Cassidy

This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I couldn’t be more thankful that she told me about it! Whether you’re married or single, this book is for you because its never too early to start preparing and praying for your husband and future marriage. This book really challenges you with deep questions about your character and personality. Really, all of the questions lead you to ask yourself what more can you surrender to God. Spoiler alert: the key to becoming a peaceful wife is surrendering your life to God and living in submission to Him. The more you do that, the more you surrender your marriage and husband to God as well. My favorite quote from this book is: “Husbands tend to eventually respond to a wife’s radiant faith by becoming better, more responsible, more trustworthy men. As a husband feels the weight of his wife’s beautiful feminine trust, faith, admiration, and cooperation with his leadership, he is most encouraged and motivated to become more and more the man God calls him to be. This approach is so much more powerful than a worldly approach of nagging, criticizing, condemning, and preaching. A wife’s obedience to God motivates her husband like nothing else can to open his heart to want to hear and obey God.”

These 2 books are ones that I plan on keeping forever, they’re ones that I plan on referring back to when I need advice in my walk with God or in my marriage. If you read or have read them, let me know in the comments! I have faith that they will impact you in a great way as well. Have a beautiful day!

Always with Love,

Dakota
