Breaking Free from Quarantine on a Shopping Spree

Hey you! I’m so glad you’re here today. If you don’t know, Texas decided to slowly start opening up this past weekend. Sooo…I went shopping. Please don’t freak out on me for being one of the few that decided to test the waters. My mom was in town (it was my first time seeing her since my wedding) and we wanted to venture out okay?! We went to NorthPark Center in Dallas, my favorite place to shop. While Nordstrom wasn’t open, bummer. Two of my other favorite stores were: Free People and Anthropologie. I know, I know. These stores are insanely overpriced, but stick with me. All of the pieces that I got were either statement pieces or basics that I know I can get a ton of wear out of. Each piece that I got was also under $100! Major score if you know anything about these two shops. Also snagged some cute summer sandals from Target that I included in this shopping haul. I won’t bore you any longer with chitchat, I’ll get right to sharing about what I found! All items will be linked at the end of the post!

These are all of the basics that I got. Starting in the top left is the lavender retro tee by Free People. It’s a basic tee with a pop of color that I know I can add to any outfit to bring a bit of color to my look. I can throw on some lipstick and dress it up, or keep it simple with jeans and some sneakers. Middle top is the Ava bodysuit in white by Free People. This bodysuit is just the right amount of fitted and still has that t-shirt feel to it. It has a statement puff sleeve that I can also dress up or down depending on the occasion. Top right is the Cathleen textured tee by Anthropologie. It’s got the cutest ruffled sleeve and bottom. Untucked, it can be perfect for the business casual outfit for work. Tucked in with some sneakers it could be a comfy outfit for the weekend. Bottom middle is the basque bodysuit in the color ballet by Free People. This is a more tighter fitting bodysuit. I figured I could pair it with a cute kimono or wear it by itself with sweatpants for a comfy but flattering outfit around the house. Finally, the shoes! They are the cork bottom platforms by Universal Thread from Target. They are currently on sale, on trend, and perfect for your summer outfits!

Pictured above are some of the statement pieces that I got. Top left is the Aurelia smocked top from Anthropologie. Smocked tops are all the rage this summer and are super flattering. I was excited to finally get my hands on one after eyeing them on Instagram for awhile. Top right is a square necked bodysuit with flowy sleeves from Free People. Of course I wasn’t able to find this online since it is a sale item, but I linked a similar option that I also love. Last, but not least, the jeans!! I think these were by far my favorite purchase. They are the raw high rise jegging in the color tea from Free People. I typically never buy jeans from Free People because they never look good on me. These are a different story, they are so flattering. What sold me, was the color. I am usually never a big fan of white jeans either, but I know this color will be a classic pair that I can add to any outfit this summer to make it stand out just a bit more.

Most of these items are on sale. So even if you aren’t feeling risky enough to venture out to the mall just yet, at least check them out online. That’s all for now! I hope this inspired some future summer outfits, or made you excited to break out of quarantine soon too! All items are linked down below! God bless!

Always with Love,

Dakota
